Fun & Safe Zumba from a Professional Dance Instructor

Teresa started dancing at the age of seven after watching a
TV show called "Come Dancing" a similar show to "Dancing with
the Stars" but with professional dancers and not celebrities competing
against each other. Teresa always knew that her passion was dance which lead to
her qualifying to teach. Teresa now specializes in a broad range of dance
ranging from Disco, Rock 'n' Roll, Swing, Salsa, Latin (Rhythm), Ballroom
(Smooth) and C&W Line & Couples Dancing, Zumba, Zumba Gold, Zumba
Sentao, Zumba Kids, Zumba Kids JR and most recently Zumba Toning.
Trained under Peggy Spencer (M.B.E) she is a Fellow of the Imperial Society of
Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D) in the UK, and currently holds the position of
Dance Representative for the NWD of SHAPE America and serves on the Dance
Educators Association of Washington and is a frequent lecturer at Annual
Conferences throughout America to Physical Educators. She also has taught
Professional Development in dance since 2006. Prior to coming to America Teresa
spent eight years in Hong Kong, where she ran her own dance studio taught dance
in schools and coached Cotillion (Latin & Ballroom and dance etiquette).
Her performing teams demonstrated at the annual Youth Arts Festival and many
other major events in Hong Kong including the Closing Ceremony of the
International Rugby Seven's. Currently Teresa teaches Children & Adult
classes at the Redmond Parks & Recreation Department and is also available
to teach in Dance in Schools as part of an Artist in Residence program. Part of
Teresa's new programs will include Zumba Toning a great addition to the current
Zumba and Zumba Gold classes at The Redmond Senior Center. Teresa is also
certified as a group fitness instructor with The American Fitness and Aerobic
Licensed To Teach
Zumba Basic License to teach regular Zumba® classes.
Zumba Toning License to teach body-sculpting techniques using Zumba Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and build strength.
Zumba Sentao Licensed to teach the party-like workout that incorporates chairs to improve strength, definition and endurance.
Zumba Gold License to teach specially designed Zumba classes for the active older adult or deconditioned participant.
Zumba in the Circuit Has Zumba in the Circuit class(es)
E-Learning Nutrition License to teach Plate by Zumba™ classes.
